VEKA Recycling Ltd is part of a global family.
Established in 2007, VEKA Recycling is thought to be the biggest initiative of its kind in the UK. As part of the worldwide VEKA Recycling Group, our work in the UK is complemented by our parent company VEKA Umwelttechnik in Germany and French sister company VEKA Recyclage.
VEKA Recycling accepts post-consumer PVC-U frames removed from homes and other buildings, regardless of where they were originally manufactured. We also process post-industrial PVC-U from window manufacturers across the UK and Ireland. Although we belong of the VEKA Group, we accept off-cuts from any type of profile.
The way we process this material results in such high quality recyclate that it can be used to manufacture new windows, as well as a wide range of other PVC-U products. The VEKA Recycling primary processing facility in Kent is strategically placed for optimum transport links and connects major refurbishment sites all over the UK and Ireland. We also have specialist 'satellite' collection facilities across the country to help minimise our carbon footprint. The Kent facility collects and collates material before processing it into a form that can be transported more fuel-efficiently to VEKA Umwelttechnik – avoiding the irony of wasting natural resources in order to save them.
VEKA Umwelttechnik GmbH
VEKA Umwelttechnik GmbH, has operated Europe's most advanced PVC-U recycling plant in the German town of Behringen for over 20 years. Discarded windows, doors and roller shutters can be processed in this closed-loop recycling centre and made into 100% pure material which can be used for the production of new profile without affecting quality.
VEKA Umwelttechnik GmbH was the very first in the industry to establish a closed-loop recycling facility of this kind, which can recycle 50,000 tonnes of PVC-U windows a year - all to a level of purity that can be made directly into new windows.
VEKA Recyclage
VEKA Recyclage in France has established a similar facility to VEKA Recycling's Kent-based operation. Situated in Vendeuvre Sur Barse, it works closely VEKA S.A.S in France and VEKA Iberica in Spain to collate material from France, Spain and Portugal for processing in Germany.
The Vendeuvre sur Barse facility currently has a capacity of 13,000t per year of PVC.
